"The BRDM-3 is an upgraded version of the BRDM-2 ATGM (anti-tank guided missile). It is fitted with a retractable rail that holds four to seven anti-tank missiles depending on type. Current weapons deployed by the most modern Russian systems on the BRDM-3 employ active laser radars (ladars) that construct a three-dimensional image by measuring the range to targets and by scanning the scene in azimuth and elevation. The BRDM-3 also has 14.5 mm and 7.62 mm machine guns mounted on its roof."
